Alex’s Story

Hi, my name is Alexandra but most people call me Alex. I am on a mission to help kids shine by connecting to the power within themselves. This mission feels like it was something that chose me a long time ago. I am deeply inspired by the web of life and how every aspect of existence is connected through the same energy, the same language, the same fabric.

I came into the world in water. I was born in the caul, meaning my mothers water never broke. It wasn’t until I was birthed into the world that I was without the water around me. Maybe this is why water inspires the way I see the world. I wonder if I never stopped being connected to the water that holds life even after I was born? I learn a lot from the way water is able to feel everything, to become everything and yet, it can be the most powerful force in nature .

As soon as I was three I started ballet. I fell in love with dance- every kind. It was something that felt as natural as breathing to me. It was my first love of life. I studied dance through college and still dance most everyday. Through my training, I noticed that certain movements made me feel certain ways.

But it wasn’t until I began seeing the fabric of life that I realized we all keep the stories of our soul inside of us, and when we weave them into movements and art around us we can feel who we are. Everything.

I was fascinated by anatomy and the body (I still am) and I wanted to help people. So, in high school I decided I’d become a nurse. Being a nurse has opened my eyes to the pain and suffering that exists around us all the time and the bodies amazing ability to heal. But I kept wondering how do people get so sick? Why do people get so sick? I wanted to help. I wanted to help people prevent hurting so much.

I got into meditation and studied yoga and practiced reiki. Looking for other modalities to answer my questions that the medical world wasn’t able to provide me with. But I was still so curious.

About five years ago I began to see unique patterns and shapes imprinted in people, plants, and animals held by the waters of our bodies. I call this energy the fabric or web of life. We are all made of the same thing. Yet we are all unique. It became clear that this was the way I’d help, through weaving this web. Through the art of Life Weaving.

I chose to work with kids because this is when we often become conditioned out of our uniqueness. Out of our magic. Since our magic is our medicine, I created a practice for kids to feel theirs. If I wanted to prevent illness in the world, the most true way for me to do it was to work with the magic of life that exists inside us all.
